Concepts of the Digipacs
and Game Advertisement!!
When
planning out our course work for this year we can up with our idea of not only
creating a music video for a song but also to create an advertisement for a
game, as stated further below in my blog. We then needed to think about how we
could create good texts in our digipacs that would form part of a bigger
promotional package. So from there we created album covers that promoted the
song and artist with references to the game such as the image being taken from
the footage of the game in our music video. I then created an advertisement poster
for just the game so to make sure that there were some aspects of our digipacs
that were directed to the game audience rather than the music audience.
The reasoning
to our decision to create a music video that is also being used as a game advertisement
was so we could create a wider span of media and revenue streams in our project.
Not only have we created a simple music video for a song but have also
generated a music video that advertises the song and at the same time
advertises a game. This then attracts a wider audience of gamers and music
lovers that benefits the game production company as the audience viewing the
game advert is increased and the music production company are benefited in the
same way as the additional gamer’s audience is listening to their song to a
game footage, and therefore increasing the target market. This could then open
doors for other revenue streams. Toys from the game could have references to
the song, there might be a game album released which will contain the song from
the video, clothing from the game may have text from the song imprinted on it. There
are so many different ways that the song could be advertised as a result of it
being the theme song for a game merely as by doing this the target audience for
the song is increased dramatically and as a result more people will want to buy
it. Therefore making it an successful way of advertisement.
